Before joining the Commerce Family Office team, Richard was a partner at Stinson Leonard Street, where he served as co-chair of the firm’s Tax, Trusts and Estates practice division. He represented individuals, families, and corporate fiduciaries in connection with trust and estate planning and administration and related litigation. During his practice, Richard was listed in The Best Lawyers of America and the Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers. He is a member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and of the Estate Planning Society of Kansas as well as a fellow in The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.
Richard holds a law degree from the University of Kansas and an undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis. Richard has served several charitable organizations, including The Barstow School, the Blue Valley Educational Foundation, Colonial Presbyterian Church Foundation, and Greater Kansas City Community Foundation.
